Let’s Flamingle! Moon & Lola XX Bourbon & Boweties Collaboration Launch Party

I had an absolute blast at the Moon & Lola XX Bourbon & Boweties event at Palm Avenue Savannah. The setting of pink flamingos and posh pillows beneath a trendy teepee was more than inviting at the entrance of our shop. The girls and I cooked up some chic snacks from miniature cupcakes to my homemade pink pretzels (recipe coming soon!)

Most importantly I had the privilege to spend the day with the fabulous founders of Moon & Lola (Kelly Shatat) and Bourbon & Boweties (Carley Ochs). I was so inspired by their stories of starting out, and it reassured me that my dream of having my own jewelry company wasn’t out of reach.

The event was ultimately a celebration of the two companies partnering up to create the most crave-worthy arm candy collection. This fab collab is the perfect marriage of M&L’s personalized acrylic and B&B’s wire-wrapped wrist candy. I cant wait to see what these glam gals come up with next!

Tales of Lilly for Target

Now that all of the Lilly Pulitzer for Target hype is slowly coming to an end, I wanted to tell you all about my experience. I was in line waiting at 7:45 , umbrella in hand, #80 in line beneath the pouring rain. By 8am the doors slid open. As I grabbed my cart, the Target employee threatened, ‘no running or you will be escorted out!’

I scurried past the clothing only to see women crowded around empty racks, with dresses in the air. I continued past the beauty and accessories only to snag a lonely hair tie pack. In my last efforts I raced through the store to the coveted home goods. I leaped over a girl bent over to grab the holy grail pouf and floor pillow. Success! I sweet talked another employee into wheeling out the Nosie Posie beach chairs from the back, yet he returned with an empty cart. Apparently a few Lilly hunters raided his goods at the door.

By 8:10, every Lilly rack was robbed. As I made my way back to the front of the store, I saw that no one was at the checkout counter. Every Lilly lady was silently circling around the empty clothing racks, clutching their fabulous finds. I peered over to the fitting room and once an item was tried on and rejected, a policeman had to bring each item into the circle of Lilly sharks, and back away before the feeding frenzy. This went on for 3 hours… once someone wanted to part with an item, it was put back onto the racks, or raised in the air for a trade, or the ‘highest bidder,’ so to say. I even conducted a three-way trade to score the gorgeous golden charm bracelet! Although I didn’t get every item on my wish list, I was proud to come home with this hefty haul.
