Angels in the Apple Orchard

As Fall came to a close, I hit the road for one more cruise through the country. My mother and I finally made our way to Windy Hill.

We have been going to this orchard since we were kids. As an adult, I couldn’t wait to stop in for some apple cider.

I loved listening to the live band playing wagon wheel, while we took a seat by the bonfire.

Around the corner, kids climbed on the wagon and rolled through the orchards. We walked through the paths and parked it at the picnic tables.

As the band picked up we grabbed another cider and snuggled up by the fire at sunset.

What better way to welcome winter than to cozy up on a country night? I can’t wait to come back!

Sunflower Fields Forever

Winter is on its way, but as you can see, I’m not ready for it’s arrival. For that reason, you can find me in the sunflower fields, spending these final days of fall chasing the sun.

As we made our way through the Carolina country roads, I came across a strip of sunflowers. I was elated to find these flowers, as most of the crops are too cold.

There was a storm brewing, but the sun paused to make an appearance. We stopped the car for an impromptu photoshoot on our way to the apple orchard.

We had so much fun playing the field with flowers in our hair. The bees were buzzing and the wind was blowing and the buds were in full bloom. What a beautiful roadside surprise to kiss summer goodbye.

Sydney Heaton Meets Haute Pink

This week I had the chance to catch up with one of my oldest friends, Sydney, in my hometown of Rock Hill. We have known each other since the fourth grade, and now we were fortunate to reconnect and collaborate on a few exclusive jewelry pieces.

When she was a young girl, she used to raid her grandma’s jewelry box, and loved to layer on piles of pearls. Thus began her journey with jewelry. Fast forward to today, she started her own jewelry business this year because she couldn’t find exactly what she wanted in stores, so she decided to make it herself. Can you say #girlboss?

Sydney has a self-proclaimed edgy style, as she likes to mix anything from gunmetal to gold. She adds druzy stones and pave pendants to complete her collection. What’s special about her pieces is that they are only available in limited quantity, so every piece is unique.

The goal of Sydney Heaton Designs is ‘to create trendy, unique & affordable pieces that make women feel confident and empowered.’ I had the pleasure of working with her to blend both of our aesthetics into these chic pieces.

I don’t know what was more fun, stringing these necklaces or shooting these looks, but the best part was using our creative passions to collaborate. If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to shop her collection on the links below and show off your Sydney Heaton style!

The Pick of the Patch

As soon as autumn rolled around, I couldn’t wait to make my way to the pumpkin patch in town. Pumpkin picking is one of my favorite things to do in the Fall. From big to small, this place had them all.

Woodland UMC has hosted their patch for 20 plus years, so we were happy to make a return trip. We pulled our cart down the path and set our sights on the perfect pumpkin.

It was a tough choice to make, but i finally picked my fave. We made our way to checkout and found out that the proceeds go to children’s church missions. How cool is that? This way you can go home with a heavy cart and a full heart. What better way to celebrate the season?

The Woodland Patch was sweet enough to share some of their favorite pumpkin recipes, courtesy of Very Best Baking. Here is a Fall favorite I found for y’all:

Tiger Town Bound

This weekend Clemson played N.C. State at home. It was a perfect chance to catch up with family as they all came home as well. This was a big game for us, as my dad played basketball for the tigers and my sister played for the pack. Whichever team we rooted for, I knew it would be a win-win!

I rooted for the tigers and my sister backed the pack but nothing brings southern girls together like game day. Before kickoff we made our way to the famous football floats, a tiger tradition. Shortly after, we were off to meet the rest of the family by the field.

We scored great seats at the stadium, and as soon as it was time for kickoff, the sun came out. It was a great game but it came to no surprise that Clemson prevailed. With a win under our belts, we were off to celebrate at the tailgate. That night we hit the streets to paint the town orange. What better way to celebrate the day of football than with family and friends?
