From Vettes to Jets

Nothing beats a cool day like a hot ride. This weekend my friend took us out for a spin. I have always  had a thing for sports cars so I never turn down a cruise in a Corvette.

My sister and I took the top down and hit the strip. I must say, this cherry red sure knew how to turn heads. And if this ride couldn’t get any cooler, we soon make our way from the Vette… to the jet!

We pulled our whip down to the airport strip and paved our way to the private plane. I couldn’t wait to roll onto the runway and let up for lift off.

Once the wheels were up, we were off to tour the town. What a lovely view of Lake Wylie. Flying from cove to cove, we circled around until we made our way to my place on the lake.

Cruising on through the clouds, we made our way around the mountains. I wasn’t ready to leave and land, but there was more fun waiting in the wigs. Once we were ready to hit the road, I had my choice of cars for a sunset cruise… which one would you choose?

Southern Skyline NYE Grand Ball 2018

As 2017 came to an close, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to attend the  New Years Ball. We popped champagne, put on our fur, and hit the dance floor.

Walking down the red carpet, this party was packed with celebs and concerts, from Southern Charm to Cheat Codes. From front row to VIP, the Meridian was the place to be in Charlotte, N.C.

As the clock stroke 12, the band started to jam, the crowd made it rain, and we were covered in champagne.

This year was a wild ride, but we couldn’t wait to go out with a bang! And what better way to ring in the New Year than with 4,000 of your closest friends?

Family and Friendsgiving

thanks3

This year I am thankful I was able to spend Thanksgiving with both friends and family, and have some seriously fabulous food.

The Palm Avenue ladies and I hosted our first ‘Friendsgiving’ and I must say, we were beyond proud of our holiday spread. This was also my first time tracking down a turkey, but after all the trouble,  it certainly made a great centerpiece. Each girl brought their best traditional dish to the table, from hush puppy stuffing to momma’s mac and cheese.

Just when I thought we were all stuffed, there was still just a smidgen of space for dessert. Of course I had to make my famous Pilgrim Hat Cookies, a festive reincarnation of the with hat cookies featured in my previous posts.

The best part had to be spending the holiday with my fabulous family. My Gramie hosted the gathering at her house in my hometown of Rock Hill, and we all left with full hearts and full bellies!
