The Angels Have Landed

As you all may know, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is the biggest event of the season for me. I mean what can I say, my last name IS Angel! Throughout my years of modeling, I have always dreamed of earning my wings. Until then, a girl can always daydream, can’t she…?

vs1

This year marked the most expensive show in history, from the grandest wings of all to the most fabulous fantasy bra. The first phase featured global influences modeled by VS veterans like Alessandra and Adriana. Each sensational ensemble captured cultural trimmings from tassels to pom moms and more. The show was separated by a closer look at each of these backstage beauties. The next act gave a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘going Dutch,’ from girls rocking everything from lace to lederhosen.

Then came my favorite part… PINK! Bruno Mars hit the stage and brought out each of the babes. Some  angels were covered in blush bows. Others made us fall for fur, layered over sporty chic pieces that popped on the shimmering stage.

Later on, Lady Gaga emerged with the ladies in lingerie. The voluminous wings took flight down the runway as the largest pair thus far. Bella Hadid also made her debut, joining the ranks of other icons like her sister, Gigi. The dark angels worked their walk in everything from leather to latex, giving the viewers a very sexy sneak peek. The act closed with Kendall and friends strutting their stuff in high necklines and haute capes.

The finale featured glorious goddesses showing us that all that glitters is gold. Each model was covered in crystals, making them all individually gorgeous gems. The show closed with the Victoria’s Secret signature walkout, amongst a star- studded audience. Seriously, what could be more of a perfect setting than in Paris? I can’t wait to see what next year has in store!

Moving From Peaches to Beaches

pb1

So as you all have been following along, you have seen my series of Savannah adventures. I have spent the last 6 years in this sweet city, from studying Fashion Marketing at SCAD to selling Lilly Pulitzer at Palm Avenue. I have had some of my best years here, but its time to start the next chapter and I am so happy to share it with you all. So long Savannah!

Now I am making my way up the coast to the beaches of the Outer Banks. More specifically, Duck, North Carolina. I couldn’t think of a better place to start fresh. I can’t believe I get to live where people vacation. Talk about resort 365!

pb2

So you might ask, why OBX? Well, I recently received a job offer to be the Assistant Manager at Life’s A Beach, a Lilly Pulitzer Signature Store at the Waterfront Shops. I am so excited to get started and run the store this fall. I also just found a new place right on the beach, just a bike ride from work. The best part is falling asleep to the waves outside my window. Now I think I could get used to this…

pb3

There is so much more to explore, and I can’t wait to get started. I would also love for y’all to let me know of any local hot spots to hit while I’m here.

I gotta say, it feels nice to be a Carolina girl again, but I will always be a Georgia peach at heart!

Victoria’s Secret Spreads it’s Wings in Savannah

In the past few weeks, several stores were scheduled to hit Broughton Street. Most importantly, one of my favorite brands landed in downtown Savannah: Victoria’s Secret. Naturally, i strolled into their grand opening to take a closer look.

Walking in, the rooms looked quite luxy, lined with satin and chandeliers. The setting transported you, making it feel as if you were in a high- end city shopping for the afternoon.

The shelves were full of luxurious lingerie and aromatics perfume. Each piece made you feel more than haute in the city.

As you can see this was a great escape, but now I have to get back from my lunch break…

Palm Avenue Pumpkin Party

Ghouls Night

When it comes to party planning, I’m more so known as the partier than the planner. When my boss handed me the hostess hat, I have to say I was a little intimidated but with a little pinteresting and tips from my Lilly ladies, my party soon came to life! From frightening to festive, follow me through my Pumpkin Party prep.

After a massive rush to clean the clutter, I pulled down my best spooky décor and got to work. I also turned down the bright lights and turned up the mood lamps for a more eerie effect.

As I am still working on my cooking skills, I saved time and struggle by picking up a Zaxbys platter for the girls, a southern favorite for a low- key gathering. For dessert, I used my mom’s classic Witch Hat Cookie recipe, which is now a pinterest phenomenon! (Stay tuned for the easy recipe on my next post.)

Hangin With My Witches
As far as tools go, I recommend printing out a few easy templates (not a double flamingo like mine, it will take you a lot of work.. and wine!) and grab a few carving kits to share. If carving isn’t your thing, just add paint or glitter for more fab effects!

To keep the party festive and fun, I got my girlies to don cat ears, and gave them goblets for their wine to pass the time. To leave a sweet taste with your partygoers, pack them a great goody bags to go, filled with Halloween fun. Don’t hesitate to get inspired by my ideas and make them your own. Hopefully with a few of my tips, you too can become the hostess with the mostess.
