Some Bunny Loves You

Over the weekend, my family headed down south to meet my boyfriend and I for and egg-celent Easter celebration.

It was Spring Break and we were beach bound, so we rented a happy little house on Tybee Island. The trip was full of fun, from bridal showers to beaches and brunches.

The highlight was having our holiday meal at my favorite eatery on the island, The Social Club. I ordered a mimosa flight, followed by fritatas and patatas.

The weekend was wrapped up in seersucker and tied up in a bow. What better way to end a Sunday?

St. Patrick’s Day: From Palm Leaves to Pineapples

This Spring has been heavily inspired by pineapples and palm leaves, so i wanted to incorporate these trends into my St. Patrick’s Day ensembles. After all, green is the new pink!

Palm fronds were popularized by the classic Hollywood Regency home style, and have now been reincarnated into todays fashions. These iconic leaves wallpapered the halls of the Beverly Hills Hotel and are now wrapping the latest garments this season.

For southern women, St. Patrick’s Day is all about strutting your stuff down the streets, and my girls definitely did not disappoint. The Lilly ladies and I painted the town pink and pineapple with the new Flamenco print.

Brooke and I were caught twinning in the latest Lilly Pulitzer looks. What can I say, great minds think alike! Pineapples have always been my favorite spring inspiration,  and this quote surely sums it up: “Be a pineapple: stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside.”

You Had Me At Aloha

Touching down in the tropics, I had a fabulous view of the island of Oahu, from the crystal clear ocean to the majestic mountaintops. After landing, I made my way to the Queen Kapiolani Hotel on Waikiki. I sipped a Blue Hawaii at happy hour, poolside as I waited for my other half to arrive.

For dinner we headed to Tiki’s. They have a fab atmosphere with a deck overlooking the ocean, as you sip your signature drinks from coconuts, pineapples or whatever you prefer. They also had a fun array of delish dishes.

The following day we set out to explore Waikiki. Downtown was full of fabulous fashion, from Ferragamo to Fendi. My favorite shop was Pink Sand, a boutique exclusive to Hawaii, featuring fabulous resort wear and bangin’ bikinis.

To escape from the tourist traps and selfie sticks, we hopped on a bus to Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve for a snorkel stop, which with our luck was only closed that day. We pushed on and popped over to Makapuu Beach, which was sweet and secluded with big waves and body surfers. My favorite feature was the lighthouse overlooking the bay.

The next day we were off to the North Shore. We made a pit stop for a picture and wound up on a day date through Haleiwa, a must-see for shopping, from unique bikinis to beach gear. Walking over rainbow bridge, we passed paddled boarders and came across Anahulu’s for shave ice, and this fab photo op.

Heading up the island, we finally arrived for our stay in Turtle Bay. This was one of the most luxe locations ever, and was even the setting for the film, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” As the night neared, we went for a walk around the point, where we watched the sunset as the waves crashed against the rocks. It was the perfect place for a nightcap in the jacuzzi.

The next day we soaked up some rays by the pool, then sipped bellinis beneath the cabana. We spent our second sunset by the North Shore watching the surfers. In the evening, we headed out to a romantic dinner, as it was our faux Valentines Day date. To top off the night, we exchanged goodies and kisses as we popped champagne. It was the perfect end to a perfect trip.

Athleisure: a trend in fashion in which clothing designed for athletic workouts in a gymnasium, sometimes termed activewear, is worn outside of the gym to go to the office or shopping or other social occasions.

Christmasville in Rock Hill

Merry Christmas ‘fur’ one and ‘fur’ all!

I have to say, my favorite place to go this time of year is my hometown for the holidays. Rock Hill, South Carolina is known for their annual ‘Christmasville’ festival, and it is definitely worth the trip!

The city ‘came alive as a charming, picturesque holiday village’ with  fun features ranging from carolers to carriage rides. Fountain Park was sprinkled with holiday cheer complete with a fabulous festival atmosphere.

The best part was dolling up for a stroll downtown. Fuzzy fur vests are a fab winter staple for the day.  At dawn I donned a luxe satin one-shoulder dress, topped with a rich houndstooth coat.

It was such a treat to celebrate the holidays at this 10th annual Christmas celebration in the whimsical world of old town Rock Hill. I hope to see you all there next year!
