Labor Daze

This summer I couldn’t wait to celebrate Labor Day with my friends and family. What better way to spend this holiday weekend than with your favorite people in your favorite place?

My mom and I have several ties to Savannah, so we said a trip to see friends in our old stomping ground was long overdue. We packed up the car and set our sights on a trip to Tybee Island for the weekend. We stayed in a sweet little condo called the Georgianne Inn, just a tip- toe away from the beach.

Our first stormy morning we were off to the famous Breakfast Club which was worth the wait in the rain. When the sun made a surprise appearance, we were set to hit the sand.

The beach was packed with partygoers celebrating Labor Day in the sun. We sipped on margaritas and made our way down the boardwalk. It was great to swim in the ocean and soak up som rays, but soon enough, the storm rolled in.

We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the pool beneath the palms. Soon after, it was time to hit the town for dinner with friends. We topped off the night with rose’ on the rooftop at the Grove, a gorgeous new spot in downtown Savannah.

On our last day we had to stop by our favorite spots before we hit the highway. We spent brunch time at Social Club sipping on mimosas and listening to live jazz music.

We traveled down the beach road and strolled through a few art shops, and soon crossed over into the Carolinas. What a great end to an amazing Labor Day weekend!

St. Patrick’s in Savannah

My favorite time of the year has to be Spring, because not only is it St’ Patrick’s Day but it’s our annual trip to Savannah! I have a lot of history here, as my mom grew up here and I went to college in this special city. I couldn’t wait to catch up with my cousins and see my sisters, and go out with my girls.

We rented a historic home downtown to fit all of our family and friends for the weekend. Once we settled in, we were off to stroll the streets. Walking down Broughton, our crew grabbed some to-gosas and made our first stop at Palm Avenue, the Lilly Pulitzer Store. I  worked here for years and had to stop by and see my bestie and shop the latest Spring looks. What a fun afternoon spree shopping with the ladies while the boys bar hopped.

Saturday was when the party really started. It was a beautiful day to watch the parade. Ive always loved watching the floats fly by and blowing kisses to the soldiers as they make their sweep down the street. the parade was over we were off to tailgate in the Savannah Square, to see and be seen. Once the sun went down we hit the town. We hit our favorite hot spots, sipped our favorite freezies, and danced the night away. I can’t think of a better time to kick off Spring than St. Patty’s in Savannah!

Tori Richard on Tour

As you may know, over the past few years I have worked for Lilly Pulitzer, most recently as the manager of Life’s a Beach in the Outer Banks, NC. I am excited to announce that I now have accepted the position as the Mid- Atlantic Sales Representative for Tori Richard Honolulu.

I was first discovered in the Outer Banks and everything after that fell into place. I packed my bags and shipped off to Charlotte. As soon as work started I was whisked off to several states, all around the Mid- Atlantic area, from Maryland and Delaware to the Carolinas and Georgia.

After the holidays, I made my way down south to sell Summer 2018. We made it to Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, Atlantic Beach, Beaufort and New Bern… and that was just week one. We visited several stores and showed off our latest styles.

The next week we toured anywhere from Savannah and St. Simon’s to Charleston and Pawleys Island. My favorite part of my territory is covering all of the coastal towns. Once we made our way through the Carolinas and Georgia, we were off to Florida.

This trip was at the top of my list as Florida is my absolute favorite. Our first stop was Ship Chic, our concept shop in Tampa. We then made our way to Sassy’s boutique, a shop in Vero Beach. We made a stop in Stuart and saved the best for last, Palm Beach!

We were on to to Worth Avenue for brunch with none other than the Orrico girls, and headed back to chat at their C. Orrico store. We shopped, we gossip, and showed off Summer. Once we were off, it was time to stroll down the palm tree path to the city’s jewel, the Colony Palm Beach.

I have always dreamed of visiting this iconic address, and I couldn’t wait to check in and sip champagne. Walking past the Polo lounge and the palm leaf lined halls, I was off to sleep in my suite.

The next day we were back on the road to visit the Sandpiper store in Marco Island and Naples. I couldn’t wait to drop in to Boca Grande to visit Ariel, along with the Lilly store next door. We ended our tour in St. Armands Circle at the Columbian in Sarasota. We sipped mojitos and strolled through the shops and headed home.

Our last Florida excursion sent us to the Surf Expo in Orlando. We had a blast browsing the booths and setting up to sell our Summer lines. After appointments all afternoon we were off to Rocco’s Tacos for a sip of socializing.

We had a great weekend of networking with everyone from entrepreneurs to surfers and more. I can’t wait for the Atlanta Market next week, when Tori goes back on tour!

I like to say the more Lilly the better, and who better to share style secrets with than my fellow blog friend Mary Carroll. You can never go wrong with pom poms!

My signature ensemble of this season has to be this Island Time two piece. I am obsessed with the look of these printed palms. These golden accessories were perfect pieces to pair with this hot Hila set.

Looking forward to the next shipment, I can’t wait to see more of what’s in store. I can’t completely spill the juice about tomorrow’s new releases, but what I can say is that something psychedelic is coming soon, so stay tuned!

Splash Into Summer with Lover’s Coral

IMG_9298

This Memorial Day Weekend, Lilly Pulitzer launched one of their biggest promotions ever during the Splash Into Summer event. From beach balls and chairs to beach umbrellas and hammocks… there was something for everyone, at every price point.

While you were at the pool this weekend, we were pretending to be, here at Palm Avenue Savannah. This Brewster dress is one of my top picks for fun in the sun, along with the Daisy romper (featured in my Bay Breeze and Palm Trees post.)

As you can see Lover’s Coral is this summer’s hottest print, featuring some of the brightest aquatic treasures, from octopus to angel fish. What better way to end a workday than with a Top Deck mojito by the bay?
