If You Like Piña Coladas

When life gives you pineapples, make Piña Coladas! What better way to start the summer than to sip a perfectly sweet tropical drink beneath the palms.

This fab fruit is so in season, I knew it would make my Macbeth Collection top  pop. A great way to seal the deal is with a stylish tumbler from your cute cabana boy.

No outfit combo would be complete without the perfect necklace from Haute Pink. Each piece is unique from my handcrafted accessory collection.

What do you pair with your pineapple pieces?

Memorial Daze

Memorial Day weekend is always a great time to not only relax, but break out those bikinis! This three-day weekend I couldn’t wait to celebrate on the lake.

When packing up my swimwear, I always snag the seersucker suits. It’s the perfect pick for a preppy look to wear from the beach to the pool.

One of my favorite secret spots to hit is this hidden beach on the Outer Banks. It is tucked away behind the dunes, and a perfect getaway for the day.

When I’m not by the lake or beach, you can always find me lounging by the pool. It’s the perfect place to catch some rays and sip on summer drinks in my Lauren James seersucker. I was able to score all of these looks on their Pink Friday sale, and they were the best bikinis to bake in the sun. I can’t wait to wear more styles this summer!

Pony Tales

What a week it was celebrating Cinco de Derby. After all the festivities were over, we were off to explore the rest of Oxford Farms.

My parents and I stayed in a cute little cabin beneath the trees and set our sights visiting the on the harem of horses.

We wandered the fields of flowers as the farm dog followed. I was wowed by what they called the ‘Taj-Ma barn’ complete with shiny chandeliers.

The best part of visiting the pastures was the paint ponies! There were fields of fabulous fillies that I couldn’t wait to play with. I reminisced on my riding days and wished I could stay. What a memorable moment, and an even better ending to our daycation. I already can’t wait to come back!

Cinco de Derby Day

Hey Y’all, let’s fiesta! Last Saturday two of my favorite holidays landed on the same day and I couldn’t wait to celebrate. My family and I hit the road for a daycation and set our sights on a cabin in Clemson.

We couldn’t wait to hit the trail and head to Oxford Farms. Our family friends invited us to stay in their cute little cottage beneath the trees, past the pond  and along the pony pastures.

The party was on the same property, so we put on our sundresses and popped on over. We were greeted with margarita juleps and then were off to place our bets on the big race.

We snacked on Cinco de Derby delectables and watched the horses prance across the projector screen. Once the winners were announced, I was happy when I heard two of my bets won first and third! To top it off I even won the pink Spartina purse raffle.

The night was capped off with karaoke, dancing and of course, derby pie by the pool! What better way to celebrate the start of spring than with friends and family on your favorite farm?

Stay tuned next week for more of my pony tales!

Set Sail for Sea Pines

One of my favorite parts about my job is covering the coast. Being a salty southern gal, I couldn’t wait to wander through the best of the beach towns. My first stop was Charleston, where I strolled through the shops on King Street. After that I soon set my sights on Sea Pines.

This happy oasis is hidden in the heart of Hilton Head, SC. It is one of my favorite escapes along the Carolina shores. I visited the marina and watched the yachts pull into port.

Among others, the hot spot is the Harbour Town Lighthouse. It’s an iconic spot to sight-see for those who trek to the top. I was lucky to see the lighthouse printed in plaid to honor the Heritage. It was a great stroll from the boardwalk to the beach, but it was hard to hit the road.

Although, as any Carolina girl knows, your trip to the island is not complete without a stop at the Salty Dog Cafe. I sipped a mojito at sunset and listened to music with the locals at the South Beach Marina. I can’t think of a better way to end a perfect day!
