Sydney Heaton Meets Haute Pink

This week I had the chance to catch up with one of my oldest friends, Sydney, in my hometown of Rock Hill. We have known each other since the fourth grade, and now we were fortunate to reconnect and collaborate on a few exclusive jewelry pieces.

When she was a young girl, she used to raid her grandma’s jewelry box, and loved to layer on piles of pearls. Thus began her journey with jewelry. Fast forward to today, she started her own jewelry business this year because she couldn’t find exactly what she wanted in stores, so she decided to make it herself. Can you say #girlboss?

Sydney has a self-proclaimed edgy style, as she likes to mix anything from gunmetal to gold. She adds druzy stones and pave pendants to complete her collection. What’s special about her pieces is that they are only available in limited quantity, so every piece is unique.

The goal of Sydney Heaton Designs is ‘to create trendy, unique & affordable pieces that make women feel confident and empowered.’ I had the pleasure of working with her to blend both of our aesthetics into these chic pieces.

I don’t know what was more fun, stringing these necklaces or shooting these looks, but the best part was using our creative passions to collaborate. If you want to join in on the fun, be sure to shop her collection on the links below and show off your Sydney Heaton style!

Babysitting in Lilly

What’s more fun than throwing a Lilly themed baby shower? Welcoming this sweet little girl home in Lilly! Our childhood neighbor Morgan gave birth to this beautiful baby Aris. She’s our warrior because she had a hard fight for her life, so we were overjoyed to have her home.

I can tell this little one and I are going to get along great, as I can already see she has the best taste! Aris’ nursery is a Lilly Pulitzer for Pottery Barn dream. My favorite spot is the mermaid suite, a perfect place for baby cuddles, complete with petite palms and Lilly pillows.

Not to mention, this crib is too sweet not to share. I am in love with the pink lemonade sheets and the diamond mobile. The most precious piece is this plush teddy, made from her late father’s cashmere sweater. What an amazing way to pass on his amazing memory to the next generation.

There’s so many more adornments around this nice little nursery, from wooden chandeliers to pom pom curtains and flamingo rockers. Although, the most important part is the fabulous  family living here. It was so inspiring to see the love and happiness surrounding their home. It was such a great moment meeting baby Aris, and I can’t wait to see her grow into a lovely Lilly lady!

Come See Me Festival

Every April I always look forward to our annual salute to Spring, the Come See Me Festival. It is my favorite local festival in my hometown of Rock Hill, SC. This fest is full of fun events, from frog jumps to fireworks and more.

The community kicks off the event with the Come See Me Parade. Our beloved mascot Glen the Frog always makes an appearance, along with the Shriners and the Strawberry Queen.

I also love to hit the Hops in the Park, where you can sip samples from local breweries, and snack on sweets at the Gourmet Gardens. The best party is the Beach Bash, where you can dance the night away to live music, and have a beer with your best buds.

A great event for the girls is the Bubbles and Berries Brunch. It is a wonderful afternoon hosted by the Women’s Club, complete with sweet treats and champagne.

The grand finale is the famous fireworks show. Locals gather around Winthrop Lake for an all- day tailgate. The night lights up with live music as fireworks fill the sky. What better ending to this annual event? I already can’t wait for next year!

If You Like Piña Coladas

When life gives you pineapples, make Piña Coladas! What better way to start the summer than to sip a perfectly sweet tropical drink beneath the palms.

This fab fruit is so in season, I knew it would make my Macbeth Collection top  pop. A great way to seal the deal is with a stylish tumbler from your cute cabana boy.

No outfit combo would be complete without the perfect necklace from Haute Pink. Each piece is unique from my handcrafted accessory collection.

What do you pair with your pineapple pieces?

Memorial Daze

Memorial Day weekend is always a great time to not only relax, but break out those bikinis! This three-day weekend I couldn’t wait to celebrate on the lake.

When packing up my swimwear, I always snag the seersucker suits. It’s the perfect pick for a preppy look to wear from the beach to the pool.

One of my favorite secret spots to hit is this hidden beach on the Outer Banks. It is tucked away behind the dunes, and a perfect getaway for the day.

When I’m not by the lake or beach, you can always find me lounging by the pool. It’s the perfect place to catch some rays and sip on summer drinks in my Lauren James seersucker. I was able to score all of these looks on their Pink Friday sale, and they were the best bikinis to bake in the sun. I can’t wait to wear more styles this summer!
