Pony Tales

What a week it was celebrating Cinco de Derby. After all the festivities were over, we were off to explore the rest of Oxford Farms.

My parents and I stayed in a cute little cabin beneath the trees and set our sights visiting the on the harem of horses.

We wandered the fields of flowers as the farm dog followed. I was wowed by what they called the ‘Taj-Ma barn’ complete with shiny chandeliers.

The best part of visiting the pastures was the paint ponies! There were fields of fabulous fillies that I couldn’t wait to play with. I reminisced on my riding days and wished I could stay. What a memorable moment, and an even better ending to our daycation. I already can’t wait to come back!

Cinco de Derby Day

Hey Y’all, let’s fiesta! Last Saturday two of my favorite holidays landed on the same day and I couldn’t wait to celebrate. My family and I hit the road for a daycation and set our sights on a cabin in Clemson.

We couldn’t wait to hit the trail and head to Oxford Farms. Our family friends invited us to stay in their cute little cottage beneath the trees, past the pond  and along the pony pastures.

The party was on the same property, so we put on our sundresses and popped on over. We were greeted with margarita juleps and then were off to place our bets on the big race.

We snacked on Cinco de Derby delectables and watched the horses prance across the projector screen. Once the winners were announced, I was happy when I heard two of my bets won first and third! To top it off I even won the pink Spartina purse raffle.

The night was capped off with karaoke, dancing and of course, derby pie by the pool! What better way to celebrate the start of spring than with friends and family on your favorite farm?

Stay tuned next week for more of my pony tales!

St. Patrick’s in Savannah

My favorite time of the year has to be Spring, because not only is it St’ Patrick’s Day but it’s our annual trip to Savannah! I have a lot of history here, as my mom grew up here and I went to college in this special city. I couldn’t wait to catch up with my cousins and see my sisters, and go out with my girls.

We rented a historic home downtown to fit all of our family and friends for the weekend. Once we settled in, we were off to stroll the streets. Walking down Broughton, our crew grabbed some to-gosas and made our first stop at Palm Avenue, the Lilly Pulitzer Store. I  worked here for years and had to stop by and see my bestie and shop the latest Spring looks. What a fun afternoon spree shopping with the ladies while the boys bar hopped.

Saturday was when the party really started. It was a beautiful day to watch the parade. Ive always loved watching the floats fly by and blowing kisses to the soldiers as they make their sweep down the street. the parade was over we were off to tailgate in the Savannah Square, to see and be seen. Once the sun went down we hit the town. We hit our favorite hot spots, sipped our favorite freezies, and danced the night away. I can’t think of a better time to kick off Spring than St. Patty’s in Savannah!

Easter Pups

Easter was an ‘egg’xtra special one last year. Every bunny had a great time with our precious puppies. I helped host Life’s a Beach’s 8th annual ASPCA Adoption Event. A portion of the proceeds went to our local shelter, and we invited some of their sweet faces to be adopted.

The first couple came by and scooped up our first pup. The coolest part was that they adopted one of our dogs last year, and then came back for another! They fell in love with their new furry friend and couldn’t wait to take him home. We also had a bundle of puppies up next at our event, but there was actually a line out the door waiting for them before they headed our way!

I have to say, one of our cutest characters had to be Hank. He was a sweetheart, who was still in search for his forever home. We later hosted a party in his honor to meet his future family.

After working with these adorable dogs, I couldn’t wait to head home and play with my own. Meet Coco and Gigi, my own little cuddle pups we adopted from Carolina Poodle Rescue years ago.

As you can see, I was more than ready to spend Easter with my furry fam! You know I can’t resist a great matching moment, and the babies looked best in their new bandanas. Love my ladies in Lilly!

A Car for Christmas

As the new year approaches so have new opportunities. This season I have been offered a fabulous new job that will allow me to travel all along the coast, and what better way to ride than in style?

Well it looks like Christmas came early this year. I have had my eye on this guy for a while now, but I had no idea this baby would be waiting on me wrapped in a big red bow! What better way to ring in the new year than with a 2017 Toyota RAV4 full of cheer?

I would like you all to meet Sugarbaby, named because she’s a hot young thing I’m putting all of my money into. Shes a limited edition with a push to start feature, moon roof, navigation, voice command, seat heat and more. What else could a girl ask for?

Special thanks to Kouri from Toyota of Rock Hill for finding these hot wheels.
